A User’s Guide to the Virtual Video Wall for musicians
Thanks for checking this out. Here’s an attempt to answer some questions you might have:
Who can add a video to the wall?
This project is open to everyone who makes music. We can accept YouTube links or Vimeo links. The entrant is solely responsible for assuring that the link to their video works. We will also ask for your name and email, and you may provide additional information (your website, and a description of the video) if you choose.
Do I need to set up an account to submit a video?
We are asking you to set up a StreamCatcher account before you submit your video – it will allow you to manage your videos (see them and edit as needed), and it helps us to let you know what’s going on.
What about Facebook videos?
We experimented with Facebook video links in our first contest and hit some snags; please use YouTube or Vimeo video links only.
How do I get my name and website to appear on the wall and manage my videos?
Your username is what is displayed on the video wall. Ideally your username should be your First and Last name, but if it is not, you may log into your profile and change your “display name publicly” option.
Enter your website when you submit your video and it will appear as a clickable link on the video wall.
If you need to edit your video submissions, go to manage my videos.
How can I support projects like this?
Help us share the video wall. Celebrate and support your favorite original artists and the many great music organizations in the DMV. If you have any questions about the StreamCatcher projects or would like to support projects like this, please email streamcatcher@saw.org. Donate to the SAW Serves the Homeless project through the SAW website.
